Cosy Wrist Warmers

I have very much enjoyed the totally unseasonal heat wave we've had over the past week but I am all too aware that autumn will be on its way sooner or later (and let's face it, probably sooner).   October is the perfect time to start preparing for cooler temperatures.  Chilly mornings are imminent and it only seemed right that I had something mitten-like on my blog.  Fingerless mittens are perfect for cycling as my fingers are still free to keep a good grip of the handlebars.

So I whipped up these cosy wrist warmers / fingerless mittens over the weekend. 

I designed the mitts themselves but I felt they needed some cutesy embellishment so I've turned to my favourite little heart pattern from Lucy at Attic 24 (as I've used in a couple of my other projects) and sewn them onto the backs of the mitts.  The pattern for the (unembellished) mitts is now availaable on my Crochet Patterns page.   

So now I have Mitten and mittens.  I guess the next step would be mittens for Mitten but I'm not sure how she'd feel about that.
